The Dutch Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Nursing Society

The VCPV:

The VCPV is a society of nurses working in the field of consultation liaison nursing and was founded in 1991. Psychiatric consultation liaison nursing is a relatively new phenomenon in the Netherlands. The first nurses is this field started their practice in the early 1980's. Their number increased slowly and resulted in the foundation of the VCPV. Now we have on average about 90 members who practice psychiatric consultation-liaison nursing on very different levels. The VCPV members meet 4 times a year in Utrecht.

The country:

The Netherlands is a small country hidden between Germany, Belgium and the Northsee with 16.000 square miles of surface and a population of 16 million people. Small we are most certainly. Drive a car for about 5 hours and you are somewhere else ( if you're not caught in one of our growing traffic-jams). We are one of the most densely populated countries in the world.
